Hello, recently I've been having this problem - My HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop PC 15-ec2000 starts lagging when I'm gaming when plugged in but works absolutely fine when on battery. It is important to note this behavior mostly occurs only when I'm emulating a game on a laptop, even on weaker end laptops this game runs fine when plugged in. And so, I've tried every "solution" in the book. I updated my graphics drivers, I updated Windows 11, I reset my Windows to factory settings, I tried buying the same new charger, I replaced my SSD with a new one but I can't find the root of the problem yet. I would appreciate the help a lot as this process has been tiresome.

Check your power plan settings make sure the power plan when on batteries is the same as when plugged in.
Enter the phrase 'edit power plan' in the window search box
Then select the 'Advanced' tab
If the battery maximum is %80 then set the plugged in to %80
Also, make sure your battery is fully charged before starting a game.

Tried this, didn't work either. I tried copying your settings that also didn't work. I set maximum and minimum processor state to the equal of what they should be, also tried playing the game at 100% battery it still lags when plugged in. Any help?

It is likely overheating while it is charging is about all I can think of but you might look at these here
