Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb1000 (7Y8M8AV)

In the device manager, Camera device is not showing. Then it has to find from hidden devices option from view panel. But the Logo of HP wide vision HD camera is vague.

In properties, it says that 'Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)'

Hi @Anjan_Kumar,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Victus 15-fb1000 laptop’s camera is not being recognized and shows Code 45 in Device Manager. Let’s go through some troubleshooting steps to identify the cause.

Check for Physical Camera Block or Switch

Some HP laptops have a privacy shutter or keyboard shortcut (Fn + camera icon) that disables the camera. Make sure it’s turned on.

Update BIOS & Chipset Drivers

Visit the HP Support website for your laptop model.

Download and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers.

Outdated BIOS/chipset drivers can prevent the system from detecting the internal camera.

Uninstall Hidden Devices

In Device Manager, enable View → Show hidden devices.

Right-click the faint HP Wide Vision HD Camera and select Uninstall device, including the driver if prompted.

Restart your laptop; Windows should attempt to reinstall the camera automatically.

Check Windows USB Controllers

Code 45 can occur if the camera is not being detected as a USB device internally.

In Device Manager → USB Controllers, look for any “Unknown USB Device” entries.

Right-click and uninstall them, then restart your PC.

Run HP Support Assistant / Windows Troubleshooter

Open HP Support Assistant → Updates & Tune-ups → Check for updates.

Or, in Windows → Settings → Troubleshoot → Additional troubleshooters → Camera.

Check BIOS for Camera Settings

Restart and enter BIOS (Esc → F10 on HP laptops).

Look for an Integrated Camera setting and ensure it’s enabled.

I hope this helps.
