It started yesterday, While I was working, suddenly my laptop screen freezes, I tried to move the cursor it wasn't working, same with the keyboard keys, after some time screen went black and laptop shuts down automatically without any error window pop up or blue screen. I tried everything on the internet, like HP support assistant diagnosis hardware diagnosis, the reports were good, and nothing came up as an issue. Even after doing all that the problem not resolved.
Can anyone suggest me what to do about the problem with my laptop.

Hi @Yathialluri,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP ENVY x360 13-bf0000 is experiencing a hardware or system-level issue causing it to freeze and shut down. Since you’ve already run diagnostics and they didn’t identify any issues, you can try the following steps to narrow down the cause and hopefully resolve the issue:
1. Check for Overheating:
- Clean Air Vents: Ensure that the laptop’s air vents are clean and not obstructed.
- Check for Excessive Heat: Use a tool like HWMonitor or Core Temp to check the CPU and GPU temperatures. If your laptop is overheating, it may shut down to protect itself.
- Use on Hard, Flat Surfaces: Make sure the laptop is used on a surface that allows proper airflow.
2. Check Event Viewer for Logs:
- Open Event Viewer (Press Windows Key + X > Event Viewer) and look for critical errors in the System log right before the shutdown. It can provide clues about what happened.
3. Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Visit the HP website and ensure you have the latest BIOS version and drivers installed for your laptop, particularly for the graphics driver, chipset, and thermal management.
- You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling your graphics driver to ensure it's not corrupted.
4. Test in Safe Mode:
- Boot the laptop in Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If the laptop runs fine in Safe Mode, it might be a driver or software conflict causing the issue.
- To enter Safe Mode: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced Startup > Restart Now > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart > Safe Mode.
5. Check for Faulty RAM:
- Use Windows Memory Diagnostic to check for potential RAM issues.
- Press Windows Key + R, type mdsched.exe, and run the diagnostic to see if there are memory-related issues.
6. Run Disk Check:
- Run a CHKDSK to check for hard drive issues.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator (Windows Key + X > Command Prompt (Admin)), then type:
chkdsk /f /r - Press Enter, and allow the scan to complete after a restart.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator (Windows Key + X > Command Prompt (Admin)), then type:
7. Perform a Clean Boot:
- Disable non-essential startup programs and services to see if a third-party application is causing the issue.
- Open Task Manager, go to the Startup tab, and disable all unnecessary applications.
- Restart the laptop to check if it resolves the issue.
8. Reset Power Settings:
- Ensure that power settings aren’t causing the laptop to shut down:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options, and set it to Balanced. Then click Change plan settings > Restore default settings.
9. Check for Malware or Corrupted Files:
- Run a full malware scan using Windows Defender or a third-party antivirus.
- You can also use the System File Checker to scan for corrupted system files.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and type: sfc /scannow
10. Factory Reset as a Last Resort:
- If none of the above works, you may need to consider performing a factory reset. Before doing so, make sure to back up your data.
