Bought a new laptop. About a month later, it won't charge when it's open. it does when it is closed. i looked on this site to find a solution but I didn't find one.It is not the same problem as (Pluged in not charging) because it doesnt say anything at all. It is like if there wasn't a plug at all but when it is closed it charges... So if i don't want my laptop to shut down i have to go to device manager and uninstall Microsft ACPI-Compilant Control Methode Battery, i have to this everytime I launch my laptop. so it doesn't seem to fix the problem i need help

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.
I understand that the battery in your HP laptop does not charge. There is no message like "plugged in and not charging". Also, the laptop will charge when the lid is closed.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Please let me know the exact laptop model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
- What version of Windows are you using?
- Did any updates or software changes happen on the laptop?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Power off the laptop.
- Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
- Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
- Power ON the laptop.
Please perform a BIOS update on your laptop. The BIOS update can be searched via this link: www.hp.com/drivers. The charger must be connected during the BIOS update and the BIOS update must not be interrupted.
Also, update the chipset drivers for your laptop.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know. All the best! 🙂
