Hi, what happened to Omen Gaming Hub with the last update? All profiles have disappeared and profiles are only linked to a game.
That's absurd, the app is completely unuseful now. Can you fix ASAP please? or give as a way to revert to previous version as it seems almost impossible to revert. Thanks

@ekopay, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you so much for posting your query! My colleague is currently out, but don't worry – I’ll be taking over and making sure we get this sorted for you.
I’m here to help, and together, we’ll work through this!
Thanks for the detailed explanation and the screenshot — this confirms the issue clearly. You're right; the latest OMEN Gaming Hub update enforces game-specific profiles and no longer supports standalone or desktop-level profiles.
Block Microsoft Store's Update Service Itself (Nuclear Option)
If you never want Microsoft Store auto-updating any apps:
Disable its services:
Windows Update Medic Service and Microsoft Store Install Service can be disabled via Task Scheduler or registry.
I truly hope these steps help get things back on track. If you have any questions or need any further clarification, just let me know – I’m happy to guide you through it and make sure everything works perfectly.
Take care, and I hope you have an amazing day ahead! 😊
Problem solved? 🎉 That’s fantastic! If you could mark this as the Accepted Solution, it would help others find their way here faster. And if you found this helpful, a simple ‘yes’ would mean a lot – it makes my day and gives this reply a little street cred! 🏅

Hi @ekopay,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It seems that the latest update to the Omen Gaming Hub has affected how profiles are managed, limiting them to be linked only to specific games, which is causing inconvenience for users like yourself who rely on desktop profiles for your configuration.
Here are some steps and suggestions you can try to resolve the issue:
Check for Another Update: Occasionally, software updates can have unintended issues, and a subsequent update may be released to correct these. Visit the HP Support page or the Omen Gaming Hub app to check for any updates that might address this issue.
Revert to a Previous Version (if possible):
- Reverting to a previous version can be complicated if the software does not support it directly. However, you can try to find an older version of the software on trusted third-party websites.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Thanks @Kuroi, I found the previous version, installed it, blocked the app on my firewall, disabled automatic updates on Microsoft Store.
It works for now but every time I open microsoft store I have to manually stop the update process that starts automatically even if disabled (probably the Omen app is requesting it via the MS). So it's a bit annoying that I have to manually block it every time..
I hope that they revert/fix the change for a more stable solution..

Hi @ekopay,
Thank you for the reply.
Use Group Policy Editor (if you're on Windows Pro):
Run gpedit.msc → Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Store → Turn off Automatic Download of Updates.
Disable Microsoft Store Auto Updates via Registry (for Home users):
Open regedit → Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore
Create a DWORD (32-bit) called AutoDownload and set it to 2.
I hope this helps.

Hi Kuroi, thanks I tried this but I have Windows Home and there is no gpedit.msc.
Also the registry seems not working. The only solution I have is to manually reinstall every time it gets updated, which is almost every time I use the laptop 😞

Hi Garp, unfortunately that does not help anymore as Hp Omen Gaming Hub is now not starting anymore, showing a message that says the app needs to be updated. The only possible action is to press ok and the app closes itself. It won't open until updated 😞

Hey @ekopay,
Thank you for your response
I think it’s best to leave it as is and revert to auto-update, as the current setup seems to be causing an issue. As long as the Omen Gaming Hub is working, everything should be fine. It’s great that you shared this feedback, and rest assured, it won’t go unnoticed. We always strive to provide the best experience for our customers.
Take care and have a good day.
