iTunes wont load.  Laptop purchased 16Dec17, iTunes instal tried several times with the same result.  I even tried to install an early version of iTunes as per earlier advice on this forum.

Message:

"iTunes Installer completed

Errors occurred during installation before iTunes could be configured.

Your system has not been modified.  To complete installation, run the installer again.

Click Finish to exit the installer."

Any ideas?

Thanks

Denis

There has been no response yet from the Apple Foras.  So  after lots of searching I finally found a site that offered a clear and simple response.

Itunes Won't install in Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

"i had this same problem. what finally worked for me was using the command prompt in administrator mode to do the install.  from start button type cmd then right click this and click "use as administrator".  then the itunes install file was in my download folder, so i typed in c:\users\johnsmith\downloads\itunes6464.exe then hit enter.  this worked for me...finally!! "

It worked for me too, so I am running a back-up and update IOS at the moment 19:04 AEST 13Jan18 (Hobart, Australia)

Even though my W10 login has Administrator access, apparently the "Windows Administrator" has a few more tricks up its sleeve.  I will have to remember that.

Cheers

Hi @DenisCar

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.

This issue is not related to your HP laptop. This is either a Windows issue or something with the program and may happen on any computer (being it PC or Mac). Since iTunes is an Apple product, I'd recommend you reach to Apple support >> https://support.apple.com/

post in their forums (communities) or reach to contact them.

Hope this helps and thank you for choosing HP.

Thanks IT_WinSec.

I am simultaneously trying Apple. I thought I would try HP, you never know 😉

I am logging a job with them, here's hoping.

Cheers
