HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15m-b
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

How long does the HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15m-bp0xx last for if I use it 12 hours a day. I don't play games on it. I just save, upload videos and photos. I also watch videos like on youtube. Someone told me at bestbuy that it can last 8 years when I even use it 12 hours a day.

I don't think anyone can really provide an accurate estimate of the useful life of your laptop -- because it depends on so many different factors.

In my experience, laptop components wear out as follows (fastest to slowest):

1) Hard drive : 2-3 year years for some, can be extended indefinitely if replaced with an SSD

2) Keyboard: 4-5 years for some -- have already replaced the keyboards in two 5-year old laptops

3) Screen: 8 years +-- one laptop, over 10 years old, had to replace the screen

Understand ... that ALL of these are subjective and will vary greatly with how you use the laptop.

My own suggestion would be to consider replacing the HDD with an SDD -- as that removes the primary "moving part" and will extend the laptop's life indefinitely.

Also, if you use an external keyboard when the laptop is at home (or in the office, if you use it there), that will extend the keyboard life.

Lasting 8 years is not unreasonable, if you make these changes and take good care of it.  I have a 10-year old laptop that I only stopped using because I could not upgrade it beyond Win7 when Win8 came out.
