HP DV2617US
Microsoft Windows Vista

I have an older HP DV2617US notebook that I bought years ago.

I replaced it a few years back with an HP Envy 15T.
I want to set up the DV2617US to run XP.
I bought a new hard drive for it and have a full XP installation CD.

Since it has a SATA drive XP won't recognize the drive.
I can burn an installation disc using NTlite but I need the SATA drivers to incorporate into it.

I tried using the drivers that Device Manager pointed to but as they are .sys files and NTlite wants .inf file it won't work.
I've spent hours looking for them and so far nothing.
I've contacted Intel as it has a Core Duo T5250 processor but because of its age they offer no help at all.
I would greatly appreciate anyone pointing me in the direction of those driver files.

Thanks

H K

Hi:

I have zipped up and attached the XP 32 bit Intel SATA drivers you need to slipstream, below.

Unzip the file to its folder and have nLite slipstream all of the drivers.

Thank you very much for taking the time to get the correct files I neded and uploading them for me.

I greatly appreciate it.

I had an error message while creating the ISO but it worked fine when I installed XP on the blank HD.

I've got a some hardware and software that work fine for a particular application I need and they only work on XP.
Your assistance got me to where I needed to be.
Thanks again

Thanks for the links.
I downloaded and attempted to install all of the Soft Paks.
The graphics said I didn't have correct hardware but the others installed and worked fine.

You're very welcome.

The specs for your notebook indicate that it comes with the onboard Intel graphics.

Is that correct?  I gave you the Intel graphics driver.

You may have to see if you can manually install the driver by installing it from the video controller and browse to the setup information file.

The driver folder can be found in C:\SWSetup\sp38220.
