Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased a HP Pavilion cs1000-tx laptop in 2019. It came with pre-installed MS office 2016 Home and Student. I had to recently factory reset the laptop after adding a ssd drive. Now the office apps are all gone. When I enter the mail id that was earlier linked with my Office apps on the laptop, It just shows my laptop in the linked devices. In subscriptions, it shows no subscription active. How do I get Office again?

1. Go to Start > Word 2016.

2. Select Activate.

Activate should be the only option that's shown. If you're prompted for a product key and you know you paid for Office, see Troubleshoot Office that's pre-installed on a new PC.

3. Follow the prompts to complete the activation process.

As part of this process, you'll create or specify a Microsoft account to associate with Office. Remember this account so that you can reinstall Office on this PC in the future, or install Office on additional computers or devices if you have an Office 365 subscription.
If you have an existing Office 365 subscription, be sure to specify the Microsoft account that's associated with your subscription if you want to extend your existing subscription instead of starting a new one. If you have a Microsoft account, but can't remember the account or password, see I can't remember the Microsoft account or password I use with Office.

Hey, John!

Thanks for this. But, this will work when I have bought the laptop recently. In my case, I had activated MS office earlier after I bought the laptop. Now, 2 years down the line, I had to completely factory reset it. This is when I lost the pre-installed MS office suite and am stuck now. Can I download it again? It yes, from where?

Thanks,

Gargee
