No need to wait. Do a Bing-search:
http://www.bing.com/search?q=8460p+site%3Acomputersurgeons.com
to search only one web-site for the string '8460p'.
I presume that one "set" will work twice, i.e., once per computer.

I backed up my System partition then uninstalled Java Update and the two Adobe Flash Player files; re-ran Belarc Advisor and the three issues were nolonger reported.
Next I tried to install Adobe Flash Player and Google Chrome browser. The installation failed. What do you think happened? I went to Task Manager and did not see anything suspiciou like Flah Player running.
Should I restore my System partition?

Did you reboot the computer after the "uninstall" ?
Did you get any error-messages when trying to install?
Was Windows Update actually doing some automatic updates, in the background, thus "locking" you out from doing these "foreground" updates at the same time?

Hello MK,
I have been trying to use the Quote fascility but so far I have not been succesful at placing a quote in my reply. I'll type your questions in.
Did you reboot the computer after the "Uninstall"?
Yes, after uninstalling Adobe Flash Player and Java Update I rebooted the system and ran Belarc Advisor. Belarc reported that Security Updates were Up-To-Date.
Did you get an error message when trying to uninstall?
No here's what happened. I Googled Adobe Flash Player Download. This lead me to website https://get.adobe.com/flashplaye. On the webpage it said Download Adobe Flash Player version 24.0.0.221, and there were two optional offers: Install Google Chrome, and Install Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer. I checked both options and clicked on Install now. On the screen it said Initializing, after a short time Step 2 of 3 appeared at the top right of the page, and in the middle of the page it said, "If you encounter any issues downloading Adobe Flash Player Click here." I waited for a couple of minutes and after awhile I clicked for Help. A screen appeared with a couple screen snips. In one snip it said "Do you want to run or save <filename>.exe from admdownload.adobe.com? " I didn't know what to make of it. I decided to download Google Chrome. This lead me to Google's website and I click on Download Google Chrome. Google Chrome appeared to be downloading, I clicked on Accept and install. It said, Thank you for downloading Chrome. But nothing had downloaded. Isn't that nice.
Was Windows Update doing something in the background?
I opened Task Mgr and looked to see what processes were running. Adobe Flash Player was not running and no other process caught my eye. Next I went to Adobe Community Flash Player Forum. It said Looking for answers? Start with Flash Player FAQs. I clicked on Installing Flash Player. There were alot of FAQs about how to install but my problem seems to be the ability to download. Found hothing.
What do you think is preventing me from downloading Adobe Flash Player? Why can't I download Google Chrome? How can I findout exactly what is going on?

I usually remove all the check-marks, but that's my choice.

Here's a screen-shot from Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7.
Notice the "yellow" block at the bottom of the screen. Did you see that block?
Did you choose "Run" or "Save" ?
Which web-browser (and which version of it) were you using ?

Internet Exporer 11 ver 11.0.9600.18537
Internet Explorer is the only browsweI have installed. I did have Google Chrome installed but I uninstalled it and I am unable to reinstall Google Chrome.
I don't bbelive either Flash Drive or Google chrome sare being downloaded. Is there a way to log what is happening when I attempt to download them?

The yellow block did not appear at the bottom of the screeen when I tried to install Flash Drive, nor did appear in your post until I used a different computer to read your post. Now I can see it. Why wasn't it there when I was on my 8460p?

Temporarily, configure Internet Explorer to "allow popups".
While starting to download Adobe Flash Player, I did see a small pop-up window open (top-left corner of my screen) and then close.
Then, retry the Adobe web-page.
Also, check your "downloads" folder -- you may have configured I.E. to automatically download, rather than to "ask" you whether to "run/save/cancel".

It worked - I allowed IE to accept pop=ups - when I downloaded Adobe Flash Player Install program it downloaded and when I ran install it installed. Then I did the same with Google Chrome.
I appreciate your patience with me, I'm delighted. Thank you very much.
