I have always been an HP fan, being 61 I'm old school, and figured computers have been their business since their inception. I have never considered anything else, this being my 5th HP purchase and a new HP laser printer. My only complaint is I bought this aug 31 2019, and it came with 60 or 90 day free trial Mcafee. I did not want it, and let it run out doing nothing. 172 days after purchase, it still pops up when I'm in the middle of something blocking half the screen, reminding me my free trial has run out and activate now. It gets old, If I wanted it, I would have bought from the get go. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

I know this seems trivial, but it gets old.  thanks in advance for any help on this.

Hello @powerwagon67,

If you have no intention of using McAfee Antivirus, I would kindly suggest simply uninstalling the program since Windows Defender is relatively sufficient anyway.

Please follow the below steps to remove McAfee Antivirus:

  1. Right-click the Start button
  2. Select Apps and features
  3. Scroll down to find McAfee Antivirus
  4. Select it then proceed to Uninstall
  5. Follow the uninstaller

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Eddy

Thanks Eddy, that took care of my problem. I should take a computer class, but I get by with alittle help from my friends. I only do the basics, but knowledge is a good thing. Now that I'm disabled from the Railroad I need to put that on my list of things to accomplish.

all the best

Michael
