I have the HP ENXY x360 Laptop. Since installing Windows 11 (and maybe before??) no computer mice seem to work properly with my computer:
1) One mouse is wireless and when I use the scroll wheel, there is frequent erratic behavior. For example, if I scroll down too fast, it actually scrolls UP.
2) The second mouse is wired. Yesterday, it worked with the computer except it would turn off momentarily when I tried to use the scroll wheel. It's difficult to describe, but basically, I try to scroll down, the PC makes the "doo-doo" windows noise & the mouse lights turn off, and then after a second the mouse turns back on (again accompanied by the windows noise). However, today the computer stopped recognizing the mouse entirely. I plug in the mouse and the built-in lights won't even turn on.
3) With the third mouse, the scroll wheel rarely registers.
4) I also have a problem with my HP touch pen. It can hover and even click on things, but the clicking doesn't register any action with the computer. For example, I can click the "X" button to close a window and the button will turn darker (signalling that the button has been clicked), but the window won't actually close. I don't know if this is related to the mouse problem.
I have already tried/checked:
A) Windows updates are all up-to-date
B) Mouse drivers are up-to-date
C) The special driver for the wireless mouse is updated, but will not recognize my mouse because the PC doesn't recognize it
D) The mice work with other PCs
E) I have restarted the PC on several occasions
F) I have also tried a system restart and redownloading windows (while keeping my personal files)
None of these have done anything to fix the issue. Any advice? I figured I might save my files to a flashdrive and do a hard system restart.
