I have a 2022 HP Envy Desktop TE01-1150xt. One of the software items I had installed by HP was Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021. It was/is my understanding this was/is a non-subscription item that does not require annual payments (or ownership checks) by Microsoft. My problem is that as of several weeks ago when I open a Microsoft Office document on the Envy I get a pop-up window asking me to sign in. If I close that pop-up window I wind up with a read only document. I do not have internet access at home where I use my Envy. I use my Lenovo laptop at my local library for internet. I've tried to find an HP email option where I could ask HP directly but this Community option seems to be all they have. So, please advise me on what I need to do so that my Microsoft Office does not require ownership verification.

I successfully activated the Office software shortly after receiving the computer a year ago. My problem is that as of several weeks ago when I open a Microsoft Office document on the Envy I get a Microsoft pop-up window asking me to "Sign in to set up Office":
I've been using Office on the computer for the past year. It is not supposed to be a subscription version. If I close the pop-up window it opens the Office document as a read only with a "Connect to the internet banner":
I repeat, this is not supposed to be a subscription version of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021. Are you saying I'm going to have to re-activate this every year?
