Hi @hunterjclarkk,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for sharing the screenshot. I understand you're attempting to install HP Desktop Support Utilities from the Microsoft Store, but it's failing with this error: Missing required driver “The product couldn't be installed due to some missing dependencies. Make sure these drivers are installed: HPDSUExtension.inf, HPDSUSoftwareComponent.inf, Error Code: 0x803FB005”
This error indicates that the required base drivers or components for HP's Desktop Support Utilities are missing or not properly installed on your system.
Steps to Resolve This Issue:
Step 1: Install Required HP Components Manually
- Go to HP’s official driver page for your model:
👉 HP Pavilion Laptop 16-af0067st (9U9T6UA) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support - Download and install the following under the “Software - Solutions” or “Driver - System & Components” section:
- HP Software Component (this contains HPDSUSoftwareComponent.inf)
- HP System Event Utility or HP Hotkey Support
- HP UWP Drivers (if listed)
- HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UWP (optional, for full diagnostics in Windows)
Step 2: Reboot & Retry Installation
Once the components are installed:
- Restart your laptop
- Open Microsoft Store
- Search for HP Desktop Support Utilities
- Click Retry or Install
It should now complete without the missing driver error.
Still Facing Issues?
If, after installing the drivers, you're still getting the same error, try the following:
- Press Win + X → Select Device Manager
- Click View > Show hidden devices
- Expand “Software components” or “System devices”
- Right-click any HP-related drivers with warning icons → Uninstall
- Reboot again → reinstall drivers from HP's support site.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
