I don't want Microsoft Teams to pop up every time I start my computer. Tried removing it but that doesnt work. Check startup tasks and teams is OFF but splash sceen still pops up. How do I stop this?

Microsoft Teams and your HP machine are two different things. You have to stop from the Microsoft end. Please try

Thanks for your response. When I go to Task Manager and click on Startup and look at the list I seem Microsoft Teams but don't have any other options other than Enable/Disable. I had previously disabled it but when it still opened the window every time I restarted I don't see any thing about update.exe. Maybe this is because I have never followed the "Get Started" option when the Teams splash opens on startup. Do I need to go through with the setup in order to make the changes to update the article suggests?
