New HP laptop. Microsoft shut me out during Simon because of too many attempts.   AADSTS90100: cancelUrl parameter is empty or not valid. I can't get off this screen, frozen on this Microsoft trouble signing you in page

Hi @davidkaren,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing Microsoft sign-in, AADSTS90100: cancelUrl parameter is empty or not valid on your new HP laptop

It usually indicates a conflict caused by outdated cached credentials, active sessions for multiple accounts, or a browser glitch.

 Steps to Fix AADSTS90100:

  • Use InPrivate/Incognito Mode: Open your browser's private mode (Ctrl+Shift+N for Chrome, Ctrl+Shift+P for Edge/Firefox) and try signing in again. This bypasses existing cookies/cache.

  • Clear Browser Data: Clear your cache and cookies for "All Time" to remove conflicting session data.

  • Separate Accounts: If you are accessing a work/school account, try using a completely different browser or a dedicated user profile to avoid conflicts with personal accounts.

  • Flush DNS: Open Command Prompt as administrator and run ipconfig /flushdns.

  • Sign Out Everywhere: If you have multiple devices, sign out of your Microsoft account from account.microsoft.com and sign in again to reset the session

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
