Hello,

When I record a video the recording comes in mirror way, the left side in the right side and the right in the left side. How can I fix this problem.

Thanks and kind regards

@OGAMIL, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing where your recorded video appears mirrored (left and right sides swapped) is usually due to the default settings of the camera software or app you're using. Here's how you can fix it:

Option 1: Check Camera App Settings

If you're using the HP Camera app or Windows Camera app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Camera app on your HP laptop.
  2. Click the gear icon ⚙️ (Settings) in the top-left corner.
  3. Look for an option like “Flip”, “Mirror”, or “Image Rotation”.
  4. Toggle off the mirror or flip setting if it's enabled.
  5. Record a short video to test if the issue is resolved.

Option 2: Use HP Support Assistant

HP laptops often come with HP Support Assistant, which can help update drivers and camera software:

  1. Open HP Support Assistant (search for it in the Start menu).
  2. Go to My Devices > Your Laptop > Updates.
  3. Install any available updates, especially for the camera driver.
  4. Restart your laptop and test the camera again.

Option 3: Update Camera Driver via Device Manager

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  3. Right-click your camera and choose Update driver.
  4. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

Alternative Workaround

If your camera app doesn’t offer a mirror toggle, consider using a third-party app like OBS Studio or ManyCam, which allow you to control mirroring and orientation settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
