I have an HP Spectre x360 Convertible that has a built-in webcam. For some reason, the webcam stopped working about 2 weeks ago. I keep getting an Error Code: 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>. All my drivers are up-to-date and supposedly the camera is installed, but whenever I turn on my Camera app or try to use video on Zoom, the camera cannot be detected. I spoke with Level 2 or Escalation 2 tech from Windows who tried to fix the problem and they weren't able to. They told me to get HP support to download the camera driver which I have been unable to do for the last week and a half. Anyone know where to download the camera driver to reinstall or how to get in touch with a real person for support?

Hi @Hylee,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Spectre x360’s built-in webcam has stopped working and shows Error Code 0xA00F4244, even though Windows and drivers appear up-to-date. You need the official HP camera driver to reinstall. Let’s go through steps to resolve this.

1. Verify the Webcam in Device Manager

Press Windows + X → Device Manager.

Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.

Check if your webcam is listed.

If it shows a yellow triangle or says Unknown Device, right-click → Uninstall device, then check Delete the driver software.

Restart the laptop.

2. Download the Correct HP Webcam Driver

Go to HP Support Drivers & Downloads: HP Spectre x360 Drivers.

Enter your exact model: HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-aw… / 15-bl… / or your specific SKU (check the label under the laptop or in BIOS).

Under Driver – Camera, download the HP Webcam / Realtek Camera driver.

Install the driver, then restart.

3. Check Camera Privacy Settings

Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.

Make sure Camera access is turned On.

Ensure apps like Zoom or Camera app have permission to access the camera.

4. Run Windows Camera Troubleshooter

Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters → Camera → Run.

5. Test Webcam

Open the Camera app or Zoom after restarting to see if the webcam works.

I hope this helps.
