So after some help from this community I'm going to replace my HDD to a samsung 860 SSD, however, I went through many posts and read some mixed answers, some have answered that this is not possible some say it is.

Basically I want to clone my HDD including the HP Recovery Partition as I want the F11 (system recovery) option to work after using the new cloned SSD.

Is that possible?

Hi,

Yes, it is possible. You just need to completely clone the old HDD to the new SSD  with all partitions. You can use software such as Samsung Migration software to perform the task.

Now, do you actually need F11 recovery, probably not as it will be the older version of Windows 10 and would need to be completely updated etc...

The best idea would to make a backup image of your system at the moment or even keep the old drive as a backup for the future.

You can also create a bootable USB Drive with Windows 10 on it.

You also have the option of cloud recovery if ever necessary

Hope it helps,
