Dear Community,
so i have an issue here:
Notebook HP Elite x360 1040 G10 i5 16/512GB has a Slot for a sim card. Sim Card is in there.
Windows 11 is installed.
Problem. it doesn`t show the opportunity for mobile sim in there -> not in the right corner and not on the network settings.
-> so no oppurtunity to activate the sim card.
Does andybody have a solution?
Thanks for everyone who has an idea!

Hi:
Every HP Elite x360 1040 G10 has a SIM card slot.
What 90% of them don't have is the optional and expensive WWAN adapter that connects to the cellular service.
All the SIM card does is allow you to access your specific mobile carrier's network.
In order for mobile broadband to work your notebook must have one of the following WWAN adapters listed in the device manager under the Network Adapters device manager category:
Intel 5000 5G Solution WWAN
Intel XMM 7560 R+ LTE-Advanced Pro (Cat 16) WWAN
The part numbers for these adapters can be found in chapter 3 of the service manual at the link below:

Hello Paul_Tikkanen,
thank you very much for your replay! So i was looking on the network adapter section on the notebook and there is an
intel (R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz and an
Realtek USB GbE FAmily Controller #3 and a
few WAN Miniports (IP, etc. )
ist there something useful or do i need to order an extra hardware?
Thanks

You're very welcome.
That is where would see the WWAN adapter if one was installed, so if you want or need mobile broadband, you will have to find and install one of the two WWAN adapters listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual.
I recommend that before buying the WWAN adapter check the area where the WWAN adapter gets installed to make sure the antenna wires are there to connect the WWAN adapter to.
The WWAN adapter removal and replacement procedure can be found in chapter 5 of the manual.
There is also this service teardown video which may be of help to you:
