The laptop would become hot (very hot) after i have closed the lid and it has gone in sleep mode ( or so it seems ).
Fan would turn off sometime but sometimes it would stay on. If I'm in a rush and i close the lid and keep it in my bag it would come out piping hot.
I have checked that the option of 'what happens when i close the lid' is set to sleep in all options (battery and power).
1 its a brand new laptop
2 i have already tried updating all the drivers and windows update, heck even through 'HP support assistant'
3 I have not changed any setting on the laptop for hardware or software
4 Since its new not a lot of data is stored, not even a lot of software
Please help, Thanks

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
