The cursor on my HP Pavilion has been lagging extensively for the past 2 weeks. It either doesn’t move at all, or it moves at an extremely slow and jumpy pace. I thought I had malware on my laptop, so I put a version of Windows on a thumb drive and clean installed Windows. The issue still continues to persist. I don’t believe it’s a hardware issue with my trackpad because my computer has been saying I have problems with my drivers. I attempted clicking “update driver” but it claims there are no updates to be had. I need my laptop because I’m a student right now. Thanks for the help.

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to download and install the latest Elan Touchpad driver that HP has on your notebook's support page.
