If it turns out to be a software issue, perform SYSTEM RESTORE in an attempt to revert back
1. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button (pressed and hold for a few seconds until PC powers off)
2. Power the computer back on.
2.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, immediately begin hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap) before any logo appears. This should open a HP Startup Menu
3. Choose F11 for System Recovery options.
The computer should boot from it's recovery partition to open you various recovery options. Note, that F11 option will only work if the recovery partition is there (not deleted) and intact. From there, you have prenty of options to choose from. Every HP computer comes with recovery partition present to assist in tough moments.
4. Please, perform "System Restore" first in an attempt to fix the issue. Please, restore back to previous days (restore point) where the issue was not present. Here is more info:

Hello I have the error "The program can't start because MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." My cursor is also stuck in the middle of the screen. I can't do anything. Is there a solution for this?
Hello,
Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.
As per the description I understand that you are getting an error which says missing MSVCP120.dll.
Some game or application may need the file in its installation folder. Copying it from Windows systemfolder to the install-folder of the game/application should fix that problem. Make sure to use the 32bit dll-file for 32bit software, and 64bit dll-file for 64bit software.
You may need to re-install the Microsoft visual C++ Redistributable package which can be found here:

Try the version applicable for your OS - 2017/2015/2013/2012/2010, etc...
Hope this information helps.
Thank you.

Thank you. I also have the cursor stuck in the middle of the screen. I can't do anything on my laptop at all because of the stuck cursor. Do you know how I cam resolve this?
Press and hold the power-on button for 5-6 seconds until the PC shuts off completely
Once it is off, make it stay like that for a few seconds.
Then, press the power-on button once to make sure it starts up normally, wait for it to load to Desktop.
Let me know if the mouse is back to normal ??
Cheers!

Did your antivirus program detect something these days ?
Did you apply some Windows Update these days or some driver update ?
Do you have an external USB mouse pointing device which you can plug into the PC's USB port and test if it works ?
Is it only the built-in mousepad/touchpad ?
