I need to close extra camera driver because when I try to open the safe exam browser it shows as multiple cameras or virtual camera software found as below

*hp wide vision camera

*omen cam & voice

when I opened my cameras in device manager, only the hp wide vision cam is present.

How to resolve this problem?

Hi @Victus_16_6,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

To resolve the issue of having multiple cameras or virtual camera software detected, even though Device Manager only shows the "HP Wide Vision Camera", follow these steps:

Check Camera Software:

  •  Verify if any virtual camera software is installed that might not appear as hardware in Device Manager. Common virtual camera software includes software like  OBS Virtual Camera or third-party conferencing tools.
  • Uninstall or Disable: If you find any software that might act as a virtual camera, uninstall or disable it.

Verify Camera Settings

  • Access Camera Settings:
  • Go to Settings > Devices > Camera to check for any additional camera entries or settings associated with virtual cameras.
  • App Permissions:
  • Ensure that only necessary apps have permission to access the camera. You can manage these permissions by going to Settings > Privacy > Camera.

Task Manager:

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), navigate to the Startup tab, and disable any software that might create virtual camera devices.

Device Manager Check

  • In Device Manager, click on View and select Show hidden devices. This might reveal cameras or imaging devices not initially visible.

Check for Updates:

  • Ensure your system is up-to-date by checking for Windows Updates under Settings > Update & Security > Check for updates.

Restart PC:

  • After making changes, restart your computer to apply settings.

Take care and have an amazing day!
