What do the HP Jumpstart Apps do?
Can I uninstall them on my new HP LT?
I have a six year old HP LT and I have never needed or used any of those services - they just pop-up and disrupt my work and it is even worse on my new LT.
I cannot have interruptions and do not want to know about the Summer's movies etc...Indeed I am bothered that somebody is even using my resources to ask me such a question.
The system will not even let me uninstall the movies, games, people, pictures, store, weather, xbox type nonsense.
Thank You for helping me clean up my computer.

Hi @puter_user,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues with your HP laptop. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?
Did it happen after a recent update?
Have you tried to run a complete scan on the PC?
Have you tried running a test on the computer?
Have you tried to use a third party program to uninstall the App? Such as Ccleaner
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to run a complete scan on your PC and check for any virus infection.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to Run a System diagnostics test as well as a quick and extensive test on the Hard drive and Memory fro... (Please capture the failure ID for further assistance). - Skip the step if you have already performed it.
If the test fails, please contact HP phone support for available service related options.
If the issue started recently, I would suggest you try to perform a System Restore to a previous date where it was all working fine, using this link: HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 10, 😎
If the issue persists, I would suggest the next step would be to perform a System recovery using the partition available on your PC. Doing this will wipe off everything and set the computer back to the original factory conditions. So, please remember to back up your data before initiating system recovery. If for some reason the recovery fails. The only other way to install Windows would be to order the recovery media for your laptop and using the recovery media you can install Windows. You can check if the recovery media is available online on www.hp.com/drivers by entering the exact model no. of your laptop. To find the exact model no. click here: http://hp.care/2bygf7l

Jeet, did ya even read my question?
Somebody please help.
I know most of the apps are not needed and I do not want any check ups or sharing or games or to connect ot anything but the internet and I certainly do not want any help system trying to help me by tracking and attempting to understand me - indeed how do I shut off all the cameras and sound/microphone stuff?

Hi @puter_user,
Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
As I understand you are having issues with the apps, don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
If you wish, you could try to uninstall the apps from Control panel - programs and features.
Similarly if you want to disable any driver, you can do it from device manager.
