Used to work normally until today, laptops just over a month old. earlier today I tried to switch on the backlight but it immediately turns off, in less than a second. if I try to click twice very fast, it first comes to full brightness then half, like it should, and then within the same time as before it turns off by itself. when it does, it seems like a software glitch to me, so I tried restarting, I tried updating drivers, nothing worked, it kept on turning off within a fraction of a second. At this point I suspected a hardware fault, but the backlight showed no signs of flickering or malfunctioning and works like new when on, so the place I suspect is somewhere in the bios, as I have a gut feel the bios is what controls the backlight. I have windows 11 beta for 3weeks now, and i updated to the latest version late last night, so there's a chance the glitch came with the update.

At present, the keyboard backlight of HP laptops can only be turned on for a short time. If you do not continue to operate the keyboard , it will turn off. You can only change the backlight time in the BIOS.
