My HP Envy x360 2-in-1says the camera is blocked but it isn't. I don't have a F13 key nor any keys to turn off/on that I can ascertain. I've checked the camera settings, privacy and security settings, and removed USB devices and restarted. The device drivers say they are up to date.

@Sthomas144

It may have a lens cover (similar to a normal camera). Have you checked its lens cover yet ?

Regards.

There is no physical cover. Is there a Function key or something? I don't have an F13 nor do I have a key on the keyboard that appears to be for the camera. Next to F12 it PRT SC then the power power button and delete. Is there some other button to toggle a camera cover electronically?

I have tried all the help. I've done many restarts and checked all the settings. It says all my drivers are up to date.

Same problem here.  This just happened recently.  Prior to last week I had been using facial rec to log on and it worked fairly well.  I noticed that it was always thunking back to my pin recently and investigated.  When starting the camera app, I get a message that says "Your camera might be covered"  then "To use your camera, you might need to slide a shutter near the camera, press a camera button on the keyboard, or slide a camera switch on your device".

No such buttons/switches exist on my hp envy x360 14z-fa000.  The key referenced in most youtube videos on the subject is immediately next to the power button, but for me, that key managing the snip / screenshot function and not the camera lens cover.

Checked settings and the camera is enabled for use with apps.  I even enabled all apps to make sure something wasn't haywire there.

I also went out to the bios and ran a diagnostic on the camera - works fine.

I checked to see if the camera device driver needed updating - nope.

So... Any other ideas?  Since this manifested fairly suddenly, I'm guessing that there is a FN or CTL sequences that closes the camera cover and I just need to know how to reverse it on this particular HP model.
