Hi, I have a problem with uploading photos from my camera through USB port. I've had this camera since 2018 and never had this problem before. When I plug the camera in there's an information on the camera screen "trying to connect to the computer" and then nothing happens. The computer doesn't recognize the camera and I can't find in in panel control (device manager) either. Please help.

Hi @Alkil
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It’s frustrating when a device that has worked for years suddenly stops connecting. Since your HP Pavilion 15 isn’t recognizing your Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 camera via USB, here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
1. Check USB Connection & Cable
- Try using a different USB cable—sometimes cables wear out over time.
- Plug the camera into another USB port on your laptop.
- If possible, test the camera on another computer to see if it connects.
2. Enable USB Device Recognition
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers and look for any unknown devices.
- If your camera appears with a warning icon, right-click > Update driver.
3. Change USB Mode on the Camera
- Some cameras have different USB modes (e.g., PC Mode, Storage Mode, PTP).
- Check your camera’s settings and switch to Storage Mode or Mass Storage.
4. Restart Both Devices
- Turn off your camera and laptop.
- Disconnect the USB cable, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect and power them on.
5. Install Panasonic Drivers (If Needed)
6. Try a Card Reader as an Alternative
- If USB transfer still doesn’t work, remove the SD card from your camera and use an external card reader to transfer photos.
