I have had this laptop for almost a year now. It been working perfectly fine but now when I go to turn it on the screen lights up but it won’t fully load. I’ve tried to open the BIOS System but literally nothing will pop up on my screen. The fans turn on and everything just can’t get anything actually on the screen. I hope that makes sense and hope somebody can help me asap.

Hi @Gaspard5
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP laptop is having a frustrating issue with booting up. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the problem:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- If your laptop has a removable battery, remove it.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter (if applicable).
- Turn the laptop back on.
2. Check the Display
External Monitor: Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI cable. If the external display works, the issue may be with your laptop’s screen.
Brightness Settings: If the screen is very dim, try adjusting the brightness using the function keys (usually Fn + F3/F4).
3. Try Safe Mode
- Turn off the laptop completely.
- Turn it back on and immediately start pressing F8 or Shift + F8 repeatedly. If you can access the advanced startup options, try booting into Safe Mode.
- If you manage to get into Safe Mode, you can troubleshoot further or perform a system restore.
4. Check RAM and Connections
- Reseat RAM: If you're comfortable doing so, try reseating the RAM sticks.
- Power off the laptop, disconnect it, and remove the battery (if applicable).
- Open the back panel and remove the RAM modules. Reinsert them firmly and securely.
5. Clear CMOS/BIOS
Sometimes resetting the BIOS settings can help:
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power.
- If possible, locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard, remove it for a few minutes, and then put it back.
- Alternatively, look for a reset jumper or button on the motherboard if you're comfortable with that.
6. Check for Error Codes
Listen for any beeping sounds when trying to boot up. Beep codes can indicate specific hardware issues. Refer to your laptop’s manual or HP’s website for code explanations.
7. Check for Overheating
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
