Hello,
I am a student, and I've got this laptop recently. I've been using one notes and the MPP 2.0 tilt pen that it has come with to take notes during my classes.
Recently, (almost 3 days ago), my pen has started to..glitch? whenever I write, there are spaces in between. Sometimes the ink becomes light. Sometimes it isn't able to write at all.
I was thinking that maybe it's an issue with one note, but that's not so, since I used the pen on other apps, such as Paint and Journal, and I was still facing the same problem.
It's only been two weeks since I've been using the pen, and I do charge it regularly. I thought it was an issue with the pen tip, so I replaced it with the replacements it came with, but the problem still remains.
Maybe the issue is with the touchscreen, but I clean it regularly, and I haven't seen any problems there.
I checked the drivers too, and they are all saying that its working properly.
Can someone please help?

Hi @Amer2808,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding issues with the MPP 2.0 Pen!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check and Replace the Battery:

  • Ensure the pen has a sufficient power supply. Replace the battery if it's low or depleted.

Re-calibrate the Pen:

  • Go to Settings > Devices.
  • Click on Pen & Windows Ink.
  • Calibrate your pen settings, ensuring everything is optimized for your usage.

Update the Pen's Driver:

  • Go to Device Manager from the Start menu.
  • Expand the Human Interface Devices section.
  • Right-click on the pen driver (it might be listed as "HID-compliant pen") and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Check Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your operating system has the latest updates installed, as they may contain important patches for pen support.

Test the Pen on Different Apps:

  • Try using the pen in different applications (besides OneNote) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if it's a software-related problem in a specific application.

Inspect Pen Tip and Sensor:

  • Check if the pen tip is worn out or damaged, as this could affect sensitivity.
  • Clean the pen tip and the touchscreen with a microfiber cloth to remove any dirt or oil that might interfere with functionality.

Reinstall OneNote:

  • Sometimes reinstalling the OneNote application can resolve compatibility or bug-related issues.

Reset the Pen (if applicable):

  • Some pens have a method to reset them back to default. Refer to the pen's manual or manufacturer guidelines for specific instructions.

I hope this helps.
