Microsoft Windows 11

I have checked with the Bios and the Touch Pad Hardware is fine, It is that when Windows 11 is loaded the touch pad is not working. When I had been to the service center they are asking me to downgrade the Windows to 10. I do not see the Drivers in the System once Windows is loaded. Is there a way I will get the latest drivers for Windows 11.

@Neleshshanbhag, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Enable Touchpad in BIOS

Restart and enter BIOS.

Go to Advanced > Built-In Device Options.

Make sure "Touchpad" is enabled.

Save and exit.

Check Windows Device Manager

Press Windows + X > choose Device Manager.

Expand "Human Interface Devices" and "Mice and other pointing devices".

Look for entries like:

HID Device

Synaptics, ELAN, or HID-compliant touchpad

If there is a yellow warning symbol or "Unknown device", the driver is missing.

Check HP Support Assistant

Install HP Support Assistant.

Open it and go to My Devices > Updates to detect and install any missing drivers.

Also, you can refer to this guide: HP Notebook PCs - Troubleshoot the touchpad | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Hello Grap,

Thanks for picking this up.

I have checked the BIOS and the Touchpad is enabled and is working there when tested.

I did go to the Device manager based instructions and could not find the "Mice and other pointing devices".

I went to HP support site, unfortunately am seeing only Windows 10 drivers there wherein I have upgraded to Windows 11 more than a year back.

Is there any ways I can get the Windows 11 Touch pad drivers

Hey @Neleshshanbhag,

Thank you for your response

I suggest you to do the following steps:

First, open Device Manager and scan for hardware changes—this will automatically detect and install the necessary touchpad drivers.
Next, install HP Support Assistant and run a scan to ensure the latest and most compatible drivers are installed for your device.

I hope this helps.
