Hi @Shellz-2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing some technical difficulties with your HP laptop. I'll do my best to help guide you through some troubleshooting steps.

Power Cycle the Laptop:

  • Turn off the laptop completely.
  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible).
  • Wait for a minute or two.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter.
  • Turn on the laptop and see if the issue persists.

Safe Mode:

  • Try booting your laptop in Safe Mode. This mode loads only essential drivers and can help identify if the issue is caused by third-party software.
    • To enter Safe Mode, restart your laptop and press the F8 key repeatedly as it boots up. If F8 doesn't work, try the Shift + F8 combination.

System Restore:

  • If you're able to get into Safe Mode, you can try performing a system restore to revert your system to a previous state.
    • Search for "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar, open the dialogue, and select "System Restore."

Boot into BIOS/UEFI:

  • Restart your laptop and try to access the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is usually done by pressing a specific key during the boot process (common keys include Esc, F2, F10, or Del).
  • Once in the BIOS/UEFI, check if your hard drive is recognized and listed as the primary boot device.

Windows Recovery Options:

  • If you have a Windows installation USB or DVD, you can boot from it to access the Windows Recovery Environment.
  • Choose "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair" or "System Restore."

Remember to back up your important data if possible before attempting any troubleshooting steps that might result in data loss.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
