@Teddyalemu, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
your folders and file paths are showing red “X” marks, which usually means Windows can’t sync or access them properly, especially when linked to OneDrive or a disconnected drive/account.
Step 1: Check OneDrive Status
Click the cloud icon in your taskbar (bottom right).
See if it shows.
Signed out? – Sign in with your Microsoft account.
Not syncing or has errors? – Click "View sync problems" or "Resume syncing."
Step 2: Reconnect or Reset Quick Access
Sometimes those pinned shortcuts are broken. Let’s clean them:
Open File Explorer.
Right-click on each folder with a red "X" (like Desktop, Music).
Select “Unpin from Quick access”.
Then go to the actual correct folder (e.g., C:\Users\YourName\Desktop) and:
Right-click > Pin to Quick Access again.
Step 3: Restore Folder Locations (if needed)
If folders like Documents and Downloads are pointing to broken locations:
Right-click the folder (e.g., Documents) > Properties.
Go to the Location tab.
Click Restore Default, then Apply.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
