Apologies if I'm asking this in the wrong spot, I have no idea what I'm doing :[

I noticed that the settings for the buttons on my pen (HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen) had changed from what I normally have them set to, but when I went to the HP Pen Control Plus app, a pop up would open saying that the app isn't compatible with my device. I did some googling, looked at other people's questions asked on here in hopes of finding an answer, but I nothing worked. I checked out the drivers and stuff, if I needed to download new ones or update any, but everything there was fine. I uninstalled the app and when I went to reinstall it, it wouldn't show up in the microsoft store. I ended up installing HP Pen Control (not plus), but that's been doing the exact same thing. I had seen more than one thing that the app was discontinued or something like that, and that I should use the pen settings on the computer or myHP, but the pen settings are for bluetooth pens (which mine is not) and I couldn't find a myHP app or anything like that. Is there anything I can actually use to change my pen settings, or are they forever stuck on the default settings now?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi @0ddPerson06,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand how frustrating this is, especially if your HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen was working correctly before and you're now unable to customize the button functions because HP Pen Control or HP Pen Control Plus reports that it's not compatible with your device.

HP has deprecated HP Pen Control, and it is no longer available through the Microsoft Store. We recommend you use the myHP app to configure supported HP pens.

Check if myHP is installed

Press the Windows key and search for myHP.

If it's installed, open the app and check for any available pen settings under your device.

If it's not installed, download the latest version from the Microsoft Store.

Update Windows

Make sure your system is fully up to date.

Go to Settings > Windows Update.

Select Check for updates and install all available updates.

Restart the computer after the updates are installed.

Update HP drivers

Open HP Support Assistant and install any available updates for your notebook, especially BIOS, chipset, and HID-related drivers if they are offered.

Check the pen settings in Windows

Windows also provides basic pen configuration.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Pen & Windows Ink.

Review the available pen settings and shortcuts.

Please note that Windows only provides basic pen options. Advanced button customization depends on support from myHP for your specific notebook and pen model.

If myHP is not available on your device or does not include pen settings, and HP Pen Control is no longer supported for your system, there may not currently be another HP utility available to customize the pen buttons.

To help us check compatibility, could you let us know the exact HP notebook model or product number you're using with the HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen? This will help determine whether your device supports pen customization through the myHP app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,

Kuroi_Kenshi
