HP 17 laptop

I have rebooted several times.  Opened and checked the BIOS.  Uninstalled it and restarted but computer gave same error code in Device Manager.  I am not even sure what HP product this pertains to.

I also have HP Support installed on my computer, and it says everything is up to date.  Windows updates says the same.

Thanks, Zoey.  I tried all those things with no success.  However, I kept searching for drivers, and found another Firmware driver listed on my computer under "System" and so I uninstalled the Firmware device, and when it loaded back up I chose the other driver.  The system accepted it, and the error message disappeared.  I still have no idea what "Firmware" was involved or why this solved the problem.  Thanks!

@HotCzech, Thank you for the update—and great job on troubleshooting!

It’s a bit of a mystery sometimes with firmware entries like HP 21C1 Opp F.31, especially when they’re not clearly linked to a specific component. But it’s great to hear that switching to the alternate driver resolved the issue. These firmware items can occasionally glitch after updates or BIOS changes, and your workaround was spot on.

If the system is now error-free and running smoothly, you're all set. But if anything else pops up, feel free to reach out—we're always here to help!

Take care,
