Hi @Raphtivate

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the details. I acknowledge the issue: the built‑in keyboard and trackpad on your HP Pavilion x360 convertible 14‑dy0 are responsive in BIOS but not once the operating system loads.

Let’s go through the recommended steps to address this:

Step 1: Confirm BIOS Functionality
Since both devices work in BIOS, the hardware is functional. The focus should be on drivers and system settings within the operating system.

Step 2: Update Drivers Using HP App

  1. Open the HP App on your laptop.
  2. Navigate to My devices and select your Pavilion x360.
  3. Choose Updates and run a full check.
  4. Install any available updates, especially for keyboard, touchpad, chipset, and system firmware.
  5. Restart the system after updates are applied.

Step 3: Use Diagnose & Fix Tool

  1. In the HP App, go to Support.
  2. Select Troubleshooting and launch Diagnose & Fix.
  3. Allow the tool to scan for issues with input devices.
  4. Apply the recommended fixes and restart.

Step 4: Verify Device Manager

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Keyboards and Human Interface Devices.
  3. Ensure the drivers are listed without warning icons.
  4. If needed, right‑click each device and select Update driverSearch automatically for drivers.

Step 5: Windows Updates

  1. Open SettingsWindows Update.
  2. Install all pending updates.
  3. Restart the system.

Step 6: External Keyboard/Mouse Check
Connect an external USB keyboard or mouse. If these work, it confirms the OS environment is functioning and narrows the issue to built‑in drivers.

By following these HP‑specific steps, the keyboard and trackpad should regain functionality within the operating system. Would you like me to also outline how to perform a System Recovery using HP Recovery Manager if the above steps do not resolve the issue?

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi @Hawks_Eye

Ive tried everything you've said, gone as far as attempting a clean reinstall of the OS (windows) with no success, updating the drivers returns the same message, (windows has determined the best drivers are already installed) every single time. The drivers on the HP support platform have yielded nothing, the support app tells me that am up to date with all drivers, diagnostics says therebare no issues, ChatGPT has concluded that bridge between the OS and the drivers is what's broken (windows thinks the keyboard is working so it does nothing) basically, I've exhausted the recommendations you've suggested several times over
