@Quadartech, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your HP laptop. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Shut down your laptop.
  • Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then turn on your laptop.

Check for Physical Damage:

  • Inspect the charging port for any debris or damage.
  • Ensure the power adapter and cable are in good condition.

Update Battery Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Expand the "Batteries" section.
  • Right-click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" and select "Uninstall device".
  • Restart your laptop to reinstall the driver automatically.

Run HP Battery Check:

  • Use the HP Support Assistant to run a battery diagnostic test. This tool can help identify if there's an issue with the battery or charging system.

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Ensure that your power plan settings are not causing the laptop to stop charging intermittently.

BIOS Update:

  • Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve hardware compatibility issues. Visit the HP support website to check for any available BIOS updates for your laptop model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
