Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop all of a sudden started freezing up with a loud audio buzz. Happens when on places like YouTube and TikTok but basically anywhere on line. If there is no audio being played it will freeze and not make the noise.

Hi@BigWaveDave67,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Laptop freezes.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Is the loud noise from the Fan or the speakers?
  • Did you check with headphones if get loud audio.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine whether the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
