Hi @Payal113,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I would need a few details to help you further.

  • Have you recently installed any new software, drivers, or updates before this issue started?
  • Is the laptop connected to the AC adapter, or are you trying to run it on battery power?
  • Are there any specific lights blinking on the keyboard, such as the caps lock or any error LEDs?
  • Are any external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, peripherals) connected to the laptop?
  • When you try to turn on the laptop, do you hear any beeping sounds, fan noise, or unusual clicks?
  • How long has it been since you tried to shut down the laptop, and how long did it take before you noticed the lights blinking?

Meanwhile, let's try the following steps.

here are the steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Power Reset (Hard Reset):

  • Disconnect the AC adapter and remove any external devices connected to the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter (without the battery if it's removable) and try to turn on the laptop.

Check for Power Light and Sounds:

  • Observe if the power button light, charging light, or any other indicator lights are on.
  • Listen for any sounds like fans spinning or beeping, which could indicate hardware or POST (Power-On Self-Test) issues.

Inspect for Overheating:

  • Allow the laptop to cool down if it feels hot to the touch. Overheating might be preventing it from turning on.
  • Check the ventilation areas for dust buildup, which can restrict airflow and cause overheating.

Connect to AC Power Only:

  • Remove the battery (if removable) and connect only the AC adapter. Try powering on the laptop.
  • Ensure that the AC adapter is securely connected and that the power outlet is functioning correctly.

Reset Internal Components:

  • If the laptop is still unresponsive, try reseating internal components:
    • If possible, remove and reinsert the RAM modules and the hard drive or SSD to ensure proper connections.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Payal113,

Please find the remaining steps below.

BIOS Recovery (if applicable):

  • If the laptop still does not respond, perform a BIOS recovery:
    • Turn off the laptop, press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press the power button for 2-3 seconds while still holding the keys. Release the power button but continue to hold the keys for another 5-10 seconds.
    • This may initiate BIOS recovery if a corrupted BIOS is preventing startup.

Monitor Behavior:

  • After performing these steps, observe if the laptop powers on normally or if any specific error messages or codes are displayed on the screen.

Next Steps

If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it may indicate a more serious hardware problem, such as a failed motherboard, power circuitry issue, or malfunctioning component that requires repair.

Keep me posted for further assistance
