Hi @TmanKompi,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP laptop is encountering issues during startup and is prompting you about the Diagnostic software not being up to date. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this issue.
- Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches.
- Update Diagnostic Software: If possible, try updating the Diagnostic software through HP's support website. This might involve downloading the latest version compatible with your laptop model.
- Enter Safe Mode: Try booting your laptop into Safe Mode. This can help determine if the issue is related to a third-party software conflict. To enter Safe Mode, restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key or Shift+F8 as it boots.
- Use System Restore: If Safe Mode doesn't work, you can try using System Restore to revert your laptop to a previous working state. This can undo recent changes that might be causing startup issues.
- Check Hardware Connections: Ensure that all external devices (like USB drives, printers, etc.) are disconnected. Sometimes faulty external devices can cause startup problems.
- Run Built-in Diagnostics: Many HP laptops have built-in diagnostics tools that can be accessed during startup. You can typically access this by pressing a specific key (like F2, F9, F10, or Esc) during bootup. Run a comprehensive system test to check for hardware issues.
- Check for BIOS Update: Ensure your laptop's BIOS is up to date. BIOS updates can sometimes resolve startup problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
