HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f1000 (508S1AV)

I reinstalled windows 11 on my notebookHP Spectre x360 and after that TOUCH SCREEN stopped working. It even stopped showing from bios.

I did check in COMPONENT TEST using HP HARDWARE AND DIAGONSTICS UEFI, but there is no option for touch screen Test.

I did tried all driver installing, but it needs fixation from BIOS level...

There is no drivers in device manager and the Touchscreen is missing

Also, there are no any support for software and drivers for WINDOWS 11 in HP support websites.. It only shows drivers for windows 10x64.

Please Help!

Hi @Christian1221,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it is to lose touchscreen functionality after reinstalling Windows 11 on your HP Spectre x360. Since the touchscreen is missing from Device Manager and UEFI diagnostics, let’s try these steps:

Check BIOS Settings

Restart your notebook → press Esc → select F10 BIOS Setup.

Look under Advanced or Built-in Device Options for any Touchscreen or Internal Pointing Device setting.

Make sure it is enabled.

Perform a Hard Reset

Shut down the notebook.

Unplug AC power and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Reconnect power and restart.

This can sometimes restore missing hardware devices.

Windows Update (Drivers for Win 11)

Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates → Advanced options → Optional updates.

Install any HID (Human Interface Device) or firmware updates that appear.

Manually Install Windows 10 Drivers

Since HP only lists Windows 10 x64 drivers for this model, download the latest touchscreen/HID or chipset drivers from the HP Support page.

Install them in compatibility mode (right-click the installer → Properties → Compatibility → Run as Windows 10).

Reinstall HID Drivers

In Device Manager, click View → Show hidden devices.

Expand Human Interface Devices.

If “HID-compliant touchscreen” is missing, click Action → Scan for hardware changes.

If still missing, the driver reinstall from step 4 is required.

UEFI Hardware Test

You already noted touchscreen does not appear in UEFI component tests.

If it’s still missing after reinstalling drivers, that indicates either the BIOS is not detecting the touchscreen hardware or the touchscreen cable/module is disconnected.

I hope this helps.
