Others her have registered concern at some HP background processes, apparently geared to collect (anonymous?) data from the user's machine. In an age of the biggest spyware company that ever existed--Google--many are understandably concerned that the processes named:
HP App Helper HSA Service
Hp Diagnostics HSA Service
HP Insight Analytics
HP Network HSA Service
HP System Info HSA Service
are all mystery processes, in which the paying customer has the right to know about, as well as opt out of should they choose.
If you go to "services.msc" from the start menu and look at the process list, you'll see them.
There, you can also optionally a) turn them off; an b) disable them.
However, they will come back to life every Windows update.
Is there anywhere that we can get documentation on each process and what it is doing?
It's an excellent piece of hardware, the Pavilion laptops, but this is becoming a game stopper concerning future upgrades.
Transparency is honesty and deserved. No matter how this question gets asked, it is never answered.
