HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h1000 (754F5AV)

I've been trying to get the Display settings to show up in the NVIDIA Control Panel, but so far, no luck. I’ve already set the 3D settings to use the NVIDIA graphics card and changed the PhysX configuration to NVIDIA as well, still no effect. I also checked the Windows display graphics settings, but that didn’t help either. I even tried looking through the BIOS to change the graphics settings, but I couldn't find any relevant option. What should I do?

Hi @Nomgo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding accessing display settings in NVIDIA Control Panel!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure NVIDIA Drivers are Updated:

  • Visit the NVIDIA website to download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card.
  • You can also use GeForce Experience software to automatically manage driver updates.

Check NVIDIA Control Panel Permissions:

  • Sometimes the control panel might have restricted access. Run NVIDIA Control Panel as an administrator:
    • Right-click on the NVIDIA icon in the system tray or search for NVIDIA Control Panel in the Start menu.
    • Select "Run as administrator."

Enable Laptop Display:

  • Occasionally, settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel are only available when using a specific monitor configuration.
  • Ensure you're using the correct display output setting in Windows (Settings > System > Display) and have selected the primary display.

Set Default Graphics Processor:

  • Go to NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Global Settings.
  • Ensure the preferred graphics processor is set to "High-performance NVIDIA processor."

BIOS Settings Verification:

  • While advanced graphics settings are typically not found in standard laptop BIOS, ensure your BIOS is up to date.
  • Look for any GPU-related settings under "Advanced" or "Configuration" options in BIOS. Update BIOS if necessary from the HP support website.

Reinstall NVIDIA Control Panel:

  • Sometimes reinstalling the NVIDIA Control Panel can resolve display issues.
  • Uninstall the NVIDIA Control Panel from your system, restart, and then reinstall it using the drivers from the NVIDIA website.

Contact NVIDIA Support:

  • If the issue persists, consider reaching out to NVIDIA Support for further assistance, as it may be a specific issue related to the graphics card model.

I hope this helps.
