You're very welcome.
Yes, it will.
If you plan on installing a W7 operating system other than W7 Starter...
I believe your notebook can take a 4 GB memory chip as well, even though the service manual states the max is 2 GB.
https://communities.intel.com/thread/33466
W7 Starter will only recognize 2 GB of memory, no matter what.
Meaning that you could install a 4 GB memory chip, but W7 Starter will limit the use to 2 GB.

Hi:
There is no XP driver for the Intel GMA 3600 graphics adapter.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to try installing the W7 driver from your notebook's support page.
Ethernet: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the driver listed for XP
Audio: try this...
If you have XP SP2, then you need to install the msuaa driver first and restart the PC.
This package contains the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio. For more information about this driver, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 888111, "Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver version 1.0a available for Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, and Microsoft Windows 2000."
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe
XP SP3 should not need the above driver.
Then see if this XP IDT audio driver works...
This package contains the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.

Thanks, The Ethernet issue was resolved with the driver provided, thanks!
The other two still have the yellow exclamation thing... I have XP SP 3 and when trying to install the driver at the end, says the hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package... then aborts the install. I uninstall the device and when trying to reinstall it got to a point where it asks for file 'stwrt.sys' on IDT high definition Audio WaveRT is needed.
Any more ideas ? Thanks for the help

You're very welcome.
The only other suggestion I can offer, would be to try the W7 audio driver from your PC's support and driver page.
If you want everything to work correctly, I am pretty sure you are going to have to install W7.
