OS on this little Notebook is now Windows 7 Home Premium. Tech sheet is here:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05201404?jumpid=reg_r1002_sgen_c-001_title_r0001
I cannot seem to find specific information on which (or where to find) drivers for Chipset, Graphics, Network adaptors, etc.
The Windows 7 install and updates covered a lot of the "loose ends" in Device Mgr., but I still have an Unknown device, and a USB Controller with yellow exclamations.
Only one of the 3 USB ports on the machine are working under Windows 7. (although I can boot flash drives from any of the 3). The machine has two USB 2.0, and one USB 3.0.
HP Support / Download site seems only concerned about Windows 10 OS.
Any input appreciated....
Wolf

You're very welcome, Wolf.
Here is the link to the graphics driver you need...scroll down the page, select the W7 32 bit driver, install and restart the PC.
ACPI\SMB0001:
This package provides the driver that enables the ELAN Touchpad in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The driver enables general touchpad functionality (for example double-tap and scroll) and provides a user interface.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75529.exe
AMD PSP 1.0 Device: I have zipped up and attached the file you need for that device, below.
Download and unzip the file to its folder. Do not do anything with the files in the folder.
Go to the device manager, click to on the PSP device needing the driver. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install. Then restart the PC.
ACPI\MSFT0101: There are no 32 bit drivers for that device, so you will have to do without.
You only need it for W7 Ultimate, and only if you enable Bitlocker.

Hi:
Download and install the AMD chipset drivers from the link below, and restart the PC.
You want the 1st file listed on the webpage. The W10 driver has the W7 drivers too.
That will install the USB 3 controller driver.
https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-9-series-chipsets/990fx
If the chipset driver doesn't install the Unknown Device, please post the hardware ID for it, so I can figure out what driver it needs.
Use this guide to find that information...
https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/
Also let me know if you need the graphics driver. That does not show up in the device manager as needing a driver.
If you click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category, and you see a Standard VGA Adapter listed there, then you need the graphics driver.

Thanks for the reply Paul...... I installed the chipset drivers and that did resolve the USB ports problem. Thank You!
There is still an "unknown device" listed, and the Hardware ID = ACPI\SMB0001
The current display adapter is a "Standard VGA" with an MS driver dated 2006. Actual adapter is supposed to be AMD Radeon™ R2 Graphics.
Device Mgr. also has a yellow balloon next to "Security Devices" and the two devices listed under that. They include;
"AMD PSP 1.0 Device" with 4 Hardware ID's
"Trusted Platform Module 2.0" with ID = ACPI\MSFT0101
When I try updating the drivers for these 2 devices the system reports that the best drivers are already installed.
I think these two devices are somehow related to the above "unknown device"?
Thanks for your assistance,
Wolf

Thanks again Paul,
Not sure how you managed to find so quickly what I had been searching for..... your efforts are greatly appreciated.
All installed fine except the PSP Security device.... said the best driver was already installed. I doubt this is a major issue.
Good day,
Wolf
