STREAM 11-AK1012dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Clean installed Win 10 pro on this Stream 11 laptop.  Located in a domain environment. Realized while it was installing that I couldn't find drivers on the website.  Can someone help point me to downloadable drivers?  The system boots and I found the realtek wireless driver, and was able to use Intel's utility to update Graphics driver.  However, there are still about 8-9 drivers I can't find.  4 or 5 appear to be chipset. Listed as PCI and smbus.  the others are listed as unknown.  Anyhelp would be appreciated.

I have tried manually updating a couple of the drivers using windows update but it just gets stuck acting like its downloading but never progressing.  I also tried using the softpaq download tool but it freezes as well on the laptop.  Trying to use it on my desktop works but can't find the right version of drivers if they exist there.

Thanks,

JPB

Hello, for beggining I recommend to you install HP Support Assistant for update all your drivers, except the BIOS: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html

if some drivers is missing you can find here all driver for your model series:

https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/drivers/selfservice/hp-stream-11-ak1000-laptop-pc/27956117

So you have different Wi-Fi drivers for example, so if you don't know what is your card you can search in your device manager (right click on "computer" and clic to "manage". In left go to "devices manager), or try all.

Thanks for the link, but that page only lists an option to order recovery media. Not even a download option for recovery media.  It's basically the same one(mine was english version) I came to in my original search.

I forgot, I tried the support assistant, but it wasn't working very well. It was quite slow.  I will try again and see later, but I'm not at the location with the laptop for now.

In effect I have only this option too. It is maybe because this PC is shipped with Windows 10S, so an OS can't open .exe files.

You can try this tool to manually download your missing drivers:

Hi, @KnightRaven

The processor your notebook comes with is of the Braswell family.

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/92124/intel-atom-x5-e8000-processor-2m-cache-up...

So, you may want to try a chipset driver for the Braswell processors...

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp87001-87500/sp87257.exe

One of those devices (PCI Device) will need the Realtek SD card reader driver, which you can download at the link below.

1st driver on the list.  Download, unzip the file and run the setup application.

https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/card-reader-solutions-card-reader-controllers-soft...

To find the other drivers you need, use this guide to find the hardware ID's.

Thank you,

Yes it was originally shipped with S mode.  I took it out of S mode cause I needed it to connect to our domain, then realized it was home anyway.  So I updated to 10 Pro under our volume license.  Since I've seen other stream laptops with drivers available, I did't think this would be an issue.

I will try your tool, but currently it is blocked by our filter.

However, I finally decided to take it home and try it on my personal wifi.  That worked for the most part.  All but one driver loaded.  SO, while I still don't understand why HP isn't posting drivers, Windows update worked(with unblocked access).

Thank you for your time!

I will try your links and suggestions as a backup solution.  Will be good to have other access if needed.

However after taking the device home(as you may see in my other reply) I finally got windows update to cooperate and download most of the drivers.

Thank you for your time and assistance!
