Windows 11 Pro and couldn't find a native tool for casting iphone screen to Windows 11.  I need to do this for recording tutorials and app demos.

From what I understand, Windows supports Miracast, while iPhones use AirPlay, which means the two systems are not directly compatible. Because of this difference, Windows 11 normally cannot receive an iPhone screen stream without additional software.

What is the best way to cast or mirror iphone to a Windows 11 computer such as HP pavilion laptop?

Thanks

Using Windows 11's built-in features, you can easily record your screen and also mirror iPhone to Windows 11 PC. For screen recording, Windows 11 includes the Xbox Game Bar, which allows you to capture gameplay, app windows, or your entire screen effortlessly. Simply press Win + G to open the Xbox Game Bar, then click on the capture widget to start recording.

For mirroring iPhone to Windows 11 PC, you can make use of the built-in AirPlay feature. Windows 11 supports AirPlay 2, allowing you to mirror your iPhone screen directly to your PC. To do this, ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, then on your iPhone, open the Control Center, tap on "Screen Mirroring," and select your Windows 11 PC from the list. This will enable you to mirror iPhone to Windows 11 PC seamlessly

Windows 11 does not have a built-in feature for mirroring iphone screen to PC. You can check a few good options from Microsoft Tech Community:

iPhones use AirPlay to stream, while Windows PCs use Miracast. They are like two different languages, so Windows 11 has no native way to understand an iPhone's screen signal . This is why you need a third-party app to act as a translator.

If you want to mirror iphone to Windows 11 PC. There is a method that uses Windows' built-in "Projecting to this PC" feature combined with your iPhone's Screen Mirroring, but it only works if your specific PC manufacturer has built AirPlay receiving capabilities into the hardware and system software . This is not a standard Windows feature; it's an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) add-on.

Here's how to Mirror iPhone to Windows 11 PC:

Step 1: Enable "Projecting to this PC" on Windows 11

  • On your Windows 11 PC, go to Settings > System > Projecting to this PC .
  • Set the first dropdown to "Available everywhere" or "Available everywhere on secure networks" .
  • Choose your preferred authentication setting (e.g., "First time only").
  • Note your PC's name as it appears at the top of this settings page .

Step 2: Attempt to Connect from Your iPhone

  • Ensure your iPhone and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network .
  • On your iPhone, open the Control Center (swipe down from the top-right corner).
  • Tap "Screen Mirroring" and wait for a list of available devices to appear.
  • If your PC's name appears in the list, select it. You may be prompted to accept the connection or enter a
  • PIN on your PC . If this works, you have successfully mirrored using only built-in tools!

When mirroring iPhone screen to Windows 11 on Pavilion laptop, avoid downloading and installing unreliable or unverified screen mirroring apps. Stick to trusted options. And ensure both your iPhone and Windows 11 laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Mirroring typically requires devices to be on the same network for proper communication.

By the way, don't forget to enable "Wireless Display" in Windows features if you're using Miracast or similar methods for mirroring iPhone screen to Windows 11. Missing this step can prevent connection.
