Using your mouse, you can get to control panel and open the ease of access center. Open up the "on screen keyboard" and click a few letters. Afterwards, the keyboard goes back to normal functionality.
This isn't a lasting fix but it works for me when the problem pops up.

I have a two-day-old hp pavilion. It also has the same problem as mentioned above. It is also laggy, which should not be the case as it has a n intel core i7 and a nvidia geforce gtx graphics card. An example of my laptop lagging would be when starting up a not very heavily graphics-dependent or performance-demanding application like counter strike.Even the little moving balls at the beginning lag sometimes. I find this odd as my computer is only 2 days old. Please help me.
