Sorry have no experience with games.
What I can say that I definetely would NOT like to have 3D DriveGuard not running.
I had some little incidence when I stumpled over the power line with the result
that the laptop fell to the floor while running - and it is still running now!
Would not bet that this would be the case without Driveguard
Sorry for late reply - had to finally reinstall windows due "inaccessible boot device" ... on my desktop
