HP Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Not sure if this is the right area. Seems to be the closest option.

A BIOS update 12/09/202. Seems to have slowed this HP Notebook to a crawl.

Takes forever to bootup.

C drive error messages that Chksdsk over 24 hours checking and repair option selected, cannot find.

She's old. But spent much of her life turned off.

Where can I find an older BIOS.  To put back into it.

Thanks.

Cheers Bob.

Hi, Bob:

If you looked at my screenshot, you asked if there were older versions, and there are...plenty of them.

Hi, Bob:

Below is the link to your notebook's W10 driver page.

https://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/10862300/model/11804180

The first section listed is BIOS - System Firmware.

If you click on the BIOS update listed there, below that is a Previous Version section and you can install one of the older versions listed.

Hi Paul,

That is the one that failed. Or correction f.49 failed. The revision f.49A (From your link) date looks about the right time.

Unfortunately the BIOS didn't have a revision number. Just F.49

Thanks for trying.

Cheers Bob.

Hi Paul,

Sorry, didn't understand on my first read of your email. Got it now.

Also found the ftp ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp (add BIOS ver, number)

i.e. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92001-92500 In groups of 50.

Now I'm getting a, not for this pc message in the setup program.
Wondering if that's a protection to stop putting old versions on. Or if it really is a wrong version?

Also found the C:\SW dir haven't sorted it through yet but the new BIOS is in there. Hoping the older ones are too.
3 years of upgrades to sort.

I'll try your ones first. Then go from there.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers Bob.
